What SALO-APETI SYRUP Is and What It Is Used For
SALO-APETI SYRUP is a dietary supplement indicated for:
- Malnutrition due to lack of appetite (anorexia)
- Allergic disorders (rhinitis, urticaria, angioedema)
- Nutritional deficiencies
- Adjunctive therapy for anaphylactic reactions
Cyproheptadine: Treats allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, skin reactions, and cold urticaria.
Vitamin B1: Supports carbohydrate metabolism; treats beriberi, Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome.
Vitamin B2: Aids energy utilization; treats glossitis, keratitis, dermatitis.
Vitamin B6: Prevents deficiency, anemia, epilepsy, and metabolic disorders.
Nicotinamide: Used in deficiency treatment, hyperlipidemia, and alcoholism.
Before You Take SALO-APETI SYRUP
Do NOT take if you:
- Are allergic to any ingredients
- Are undergoing therapy for acute asthma
- Are a newborn or premature infant
- Are breastfeeding
- Are taking MAO inhibitors
- Have glaucoma, peptic ulcer, urinary retention, or prostate issues
- Are elderly or debilitated
Drug Interactions:
- MAO inhibitors intensify anticholinergic effects
- Additive effects with alcohol, sedatives, tranquilizers
- May interfere with SSRIs and cause recurrence of depression
- May cause false positives in TCA drug screens
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:
Use only if benefits outweigh risks. Not known if excreted in breast milk.
How to Take SALO-APETI SYRUP
Follow your doctor or pharmacist’s instructions.
- Children 2–6 years: 5ml, 2–3 times daily
- Children 7–14 years: 10ml, 2–3 times daily
- Adults (14+ years): 10ml, 3 times daily
Possible Side Effects
Common:
- Drowsiness, somnolence (may reduce after 3–4 days)
Reported Side Effects:
- Blood disorders: anemia, leucopenia, thrombocytopenia
- Immune: rash, oedema, anaphylactic shock
- Metabolic: anorexia, increased appetite
- Psychiatric: confusion, restlessness, hallucinations
- Nervous system: dizziness, tremor, convulsions
- Eye: blurred vision
- Ear: tinnitus, vertigo
- Cardiac: palpitations, tachycardia
- Respiratory: nasal dryness, wheezing
- GI: nausea, constipation
- Liver: hepatitis, jaundice
- Skin: urticaria, photosensitivity
- Urinary: retention, difficulty
- Reproductive: early menses
- General: fatigue, weight gain

How to Store SALO-APETI SYRUP
- Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not dispose via wastewater or household waste
- Ask pharmacist how to dispose of unused medicine
