- Helps reduce stool frequency and improve consistency
- Also prescribed after intestinal resection surgery
Before You Take Letadium
Do Not Use If You:
- Are allergic to Loperamide or any listed ingredients
- Have bloody diarrhea, fever, or ulcerative/pseudomembranous colitis
- Are constipated or must avoid constipation
- Are breastfeeding
- Are under 12 years old
Use with Caution If You:
- Are pregnant or planning pregnancy
- Have liver/kidney disease, AIDS, glaucoma, or bladder issues
- Consume alcohol regularly
Drug Interactions
Letadium may interact with:
- Sleeping pills, antidepressants, or anti-anxiety meds
- Drugs that slow intestinal movement
- Always inform your doctor about all medications, including herbal remedies
Food, Drink & Lifestyle
- Take with water or drink
- Avoid alcohol
- May cause drowsiness—use caution when driving or operating machinery
How to Take Letadium
Adults:
- Start with 2 capsules
- Then 1 capsule after each loose stool
- Max: 8 capsules (16 mg) per day
Children:
- Not recommended under age 12
If You Miss a Dose:
- Take it when remembered if symptoms persist
- Do not double dose
If You Overdose:
- Seek emergency medical help
- Symptoms: sleepiness, nausea, constipation, breathing issues, muscle stiffness
- Naloxone may be used as an antidote
