COMPOSITION
Each 5 ml contains:
- Sodium Bicarbonate – 50.15 mg
- Conc. Dill Water – 0.2 ml
- Ginger Tincture – 0.07 ml
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION
Acid neutralizing action and carminative.
INDICATIONS
To comfort infants with cramps.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
It is generally recommended that sodium bicarbonate should not be administered to patients with:
WARNINGS
Do not administer more than the recommended dose of this product, except under the advice and supervision of a doctor.
Consult your doctor if there is no improvement after 24 hours.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Newborn Infants | 2.5 ml |
One- to six-month-old | 5 ml |
6 months to 1 year old | 10 ml |
Two years and over | 10 to 15 ml |
These doses may be given during or after each feed or up to eight times in twenty-four hour.
SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
Side-effects of sodium bicarbonate:
- Can cause stomach cramps and flatulence.
Special precautions:
- Use with care in patients with renal failure.
- May interfere with the absorption of other medicines given concomitantly.
- Alkalinization of the urine by sodium bicarbonate leads to increased renal clearance of acidic drugs.
INTERACTION WITH FOOD AND/ OR DRUGS
The effect of oral bicarbonate or bicarbonate-forming compounds in raising intra-gastric pH may reduce or increase the rate and/ or extent of absorption of a number of drugs.
KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVER DOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT
Symptoms:
- Restlessness
- Thirst
- Pyrexia
- Oliguria
- Hypotension
- Hyperpnea
- Fluid retention
Over dosage may result in hypernatraemia and systemic alkalosis with the following signs.
Treatment consists mainly of appropriate correction of fluid and electrolyte balance.
Further treatment is symptomatic.

STORAGE CONDITION
STORE BELOW 30°C AND AWAY FROM LIGHT.
